The term “Leading Edge” when it comes to health and medicine is normally connected with universities such as Princeton, Harvard or Standford. However, when it comes to the “Leading Edge” as far as Autism is concerned are actually the “Parents’” who care for an Autistic child
These parents have been forced into this position due to the fact that the medical community still believes Autism is a mental disorder which can only be managed. What parents are beginning to realize is that Autistic like symptoms: inability to form speech, lack of emotional balance and little mental focus are brought on by a chemical imbalance that travels through out the body and literally upsets every functioning process.
One parent’s, Kitsa Arnet, son suffered with non ending, severe tantrums and sleeplessness. She had a test done on her son to show mineral levels. Magnesium levels were very low and a soon as the magnesium levels were address the tantrums and sleepless nights we gone.
The lack of zinc and finger chewing…not nail biting. Melinda Allison’s son was chewing the skin off his finger tips. This was blamed on this Autistic mental disorder. Melinda too, had blood work done on her son only to learn that he lacked zinc. He stopping chewing the ends of his fingers one zinc levels where brought up to speed.
Shirley Anderson was having the same problem as Kitsa Arnet’s son with sleeplessness and tantrums. She found her solution in going to the vitamin store and picking up some melatonin, a naturally occurring hormone found in humans. The use of melatonin as a drug can have beneficial effects for treatment of certain insomnias.
Parents of children with autism now realize that one of the first steps in the treatment of Autism is to have a chemical work up. Once insufficient levels are brought into balance the opportunity to end the child’s experience with autism is greatly enhanced.
